The Long & Short of It Is...

So some fantastic news - I am getting my first book published! I'm super excited (and amazed it all happened so quickly, but I guess that's the nature of self publishing, even when you're paying for professionals to help you edit and all that) and I'll definitely tell you more about that soon, but right now I'm annoyed with myself. One woman told me usually it's the author that holds up the publishing process and I'm beginning to see what she meant.

They want a back cover summary and that little 'about the author' blurb you find on the last page before we really dig into the book edits. I know, you'd think they'd be nothing to write after finishing a book that took a year to write, but I hate writing short! Really and truly can't stand it. My sister asked me to explain my book to her and when I was done she said, "So essentially it's-" and summed up the thing in a sentence and a half.

Short just isn't in my nature. Which is kind of funny since I'm not exactly talkative. But maybe that's how it works? I don't talk so much so a I write more...? Huh. Never thought about it that way before.

Well anyway, I've managed to get the summary squared away, so it's all about talking about myself in four sentences or less now. :D Sigh... At least I've got the King to keep me company. Add some life to this party Presley!

There we go, that's more like it. Well I'd better get back to it before the coffee-mojo wears off. I can't wait to tell all of y'all about my book though! (And the short story I'm writing as a free ebook to get you psyched! ;3) So look for more information coming soon!
